ILR Show Division

GOVERNING BOARD e-mail vote
October 31, 2013

On October 31, 2013, Tami Lash submitted via e-mail the following for consideration by the ILR-SD Governing Board:

CURRENTLY READS:

VIII. PERFORMANCE

A. PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES

6.  Performance Animals

a) Animals must show in appropriate division, Advanced animals should not show in Novice classes.

b)  Once an animal has received 35 points, they must move to Advanced.

SUGGESTED CHANGE TO READ:

VIII. PERFORMANCE

     A. PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES

6. Novice Performance Animals: Novice refers to the animal's ability and not the ability of the handler.

a) Animals must show in the appropriate division. Eligibility requirements for animals to show in the Novice Division are outlined as follows.

1) A Novice Animal is defined as an animal who has not previously earned 3 ribbons consisting of either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, in performance class sizes of 5 entries or more; or 3 first place wins in class sizes of 3 or more. In class sizes of less than 3, animals must move out of Novice after their first full year of showing. These guidelines pertain to animals shown in any Performance division (Novice, Youth, Open or Advanced) in any Show Association or Open Show.

2) Once they enter into the Novice Division, they can remain in each *division until they have earned 45 Points per class including Youth classes. Once an animal has received 45 Points per class including Youth classes, they must move to Advanced.

(*division meaning: Freestyle Obstacle; Companion PR, Trail/Pack)

3)If a Novice animal has moved to the Advanced division in any other Show Association, they must show in the Advanced division in the ILR-SD.

4) It is up to the Owner/Exhibitor to keep a record of their animal's placements and points and to enter the animal correctly when entering ILR-SD Performance Classes.

5) Animals shown in the inappropriate division will have any placements, Awards and Titles removed from them by the Governing Board.

The motion was seconded by Debi Garvin.

On November 1, 2013, Debbie Shellabarger made a motion to amend the language in the original motion, seconded by Tami Lash. Revised motion to read:
