The
ILR-SD was developed in response to the requests of
the membership and has been guided by the hard work
of our standing ILR-SD committees. The Guidelines
for ILR-SD Shows are in place on the ILR website,
www.lamaregistry.com. They
will soon be available in a downloadable format as
well. Exhibiting your llamas at a show is a great
way to support the ILR-SD, but we can use your help
in other areas as well…
Host a Show – The ILR-SD
is designed to let local show management customize
the event to suite the needs of your area. How do
you get started?? Just contact the ILR office and
pay the $50 dollar per event sanctioning fee. Also,
you must hire an ILR-SD approved judge – the list is
available at the website or call the ILR office.
List your show on the ILR Events Calendar and it
will be highlighted! After that, it’s up to you –
pick and choose the ILR-SD approved point classes
that fit the needs of your participants (they are
listed on the website) and you can add any non-point
classes that your exhibitors would like! That’s it
– you’re ready to host an ILR sanctioned show –
now go have fun!
Immediately after the show is completed, the $1 per
head user fee per show, if you use the ShowManager
software through the ILR, or $2 per head if you
don’t, is due in the ILR office along with the show
results. The results are posted on the ILR website
within a few days of being received.
Host an ILR-SD Judges Clinic
– we will be recertifying our judges for 2010 and
need places to hold the training clinics. If you
would like to host one on your farm or in
conjunction with a llama show or convention, please
contact the ILR office. The fleece judging clinics
are starting in July with the first one being held
in
Sparta,
WI on
July 10-12, 2009.
There are still openings available for that event.
The judges committee is finalizing the criterion for
halter, youth and performance judges and will need
venues to hold those clinics. What a great way to
support the ILR-SD – please call the ILR office if
you want to help with our education and training
sessions!
Any questions? Please call
the ILR Office or email the ILR Board at

are working for you and with you for a strong llama
industry.
The excitement is back in the llama industry. You
