The Llama Fleece Judging Clinic will cover the following topics: * Primary Characteristics of the Various Types of Llama Fleece * Fiber Terminology and Definitions * Review of Current ILR-SD Guidebook * Rules and Judging Criteria for all Fleece Types and Fleece Products * Determining Density and Fleece Weights * Many Hands On Learning Experiences with Shorn and Fleece-on/ Coat-on Evaluations, and Fleece Products * Practice Judging * Testing and Oral Reasons * Professional Conduct * Ethics * Working with Show Management 

This clinic is designed for all levels of experience and expertise including

Beginning Llama Fleece judges, advanced llama fleece apprentices, or equivalent thereof, and approved ILR-SD fleece judges for renewal/recertification.

 

People who are interested in learning more about llama fleece are welcome to attend at the education rate for one or two days of the education program.

 

Class size limited to 20 participants.  A minimum of eight attendees needed to hold clinic.  Lunch is provided each day as are healthy snacks. Friday evening meal provided at host farm.

 

This program includes hands on evaluation of shorn fleeces, fleece-on/coat-on evaluation of llamas and classroom lectures.  Facilities are air conditioned with restrooms and handicap accessible.
