							November 3, 2009

							Meeting called to order
							8:05 EST

Members attending: Debi Garvin, Tami Lash, Jim Krowka, Patti Morgan, Tom Rothering,
							Bill Safreed.

							Agenda Item #1

							Minutes
							from last meeting unanimously approved.

							Old Business:

							Updating driving document.

After the last GB meeting Tami sent the following to the group:

Question asked by the GB at the last meeting
regarding Rules, Definitions and Guidelines Part 2
11 A.). In pleasure/open road driving if a header is
needed to keep an animal moving continually in the
ring or on the course  that animal is not ready to
drive 'with cart', and may be dismissed from the
ring and moved to a ground driving class level. A
header or assistant can be provided by drivers to
assist with judge's inspections if necessary and
problems or "stall-ups" in the ring or trial area.
Use of header will be considered a fault and will
reflect in the final class placing.

Question was asked as to how this will be done at
shows, as to the judge asking for exhibitors to
							leave the ring, etc.

Options were to remove this altogether.

In email discussion post meeting the following was
							approved:

Rules, Definitions and Guidelines Part 2

11 A.)In pleasure/open road driving header or assistant can be
provided by drivers to assist with judge's
inspections if necessary and problems or "stall-ups"
in the ring or trial area. Use of header will be
considered a fault and will reflect in the final
							class placing.

Discussion on pack document sent from Patti:

This discussion continued from the last meeting involving concerns
of inconsistency in judging and competitor knowledge
regarding pack systems, specifically related to
putting on and taking them off.  Patti had put
together a draft of a document sent around via email
prior to this meeting. After discussion on points
contained in the document and points for revision
suggested, it was agreed another draft would be
							presented to the group.

The group is still working on this via email discussion.

							Novice animals & performance champions:

The topic of youth llamas with considerable experience competing in
the novice adult classes remains an issue of
considerable concern about this being unfair to
other competitors in these classes. To the
committees understanding, it has been the youth who
receive the points in youth classes, not the llama.
The committee unanimously agreed that the only fair
way to resolve this situation is for the llamas to
earn points regardless of whether they are competing
in youth or adult classes. In that way once a youth
llama earned the 35 points they would no longer be
eligible for novice and must compete in advanced or
open classes. The question remained regarding the
cost and difficulty of programming this into the
software and it was agreed the committee needed to
acquire this information from the ILR office prior
to making a recommendation to this effect.

Camelid Companion Series doc from Debi, and with
							Jim's comments:

Since the last meeting Debi had sent via email a draft outline of
the new proposed Camelid Companion series.
Discussion involved basic aspects of this new
addition to performance. It was decided that Debi
and Jim would work on this privately and when in a
more complete draft form present it to the committee
for approval prior to sending to the GB. The
priority would be to have a presentation regarding
this ready for the next meeting of the GB.

							New business:

Youth committee request for input in Youth judging
							manual.

Various aspects of the performance section of this manual were
discussed. Discussion raised no significant concerns
or questions. It was noted that the number of tasks
to judge in these mock classes should be consistent
with real shows, 8 being an agreed upon number.

The next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 1,

							8:00 p.m. EST

							Meeting adjourned

							10:10 EST

							Respectfully submitted,
