The ILR office has always accepted credit cards as a form of payment for the convenience of our members. Over the years, we have had to limit the number of types of cards we accept due to the fees associated with each different type of card. In 2011, over 60% of transactions with the ILR were made by credit cards accumulating over $6000 in fees, and with the credit card companies increasing their processing fees again, we are faced with a difficult decision. The ILR Board decided that the most fair way to distribute the added costs of credit card transactions would be to add a courtesy fee to each invoice paid by credit card. This allows members wishing to use a credit card to continue to do so at no additional cost to the rest of the ILR members. Effective February 1, 2012, a courtesy fee will be assessed at 6% of the invoice total for credit card transactions.
