2012 International
Gathering
of Friends and Champions
REVIEW
|
The 2012 International
Gathering of Friends and
Champions held June
15-17, 2012, in Des Moines,
IA was a great success.
Thank you to all the
exhibitors who supported the
show and to the volunteers
who worked hard to bring
this event to the ILR-SD
membership – the judges, the
clerks, the superintendents,
the ring workers, the ribbon
folks and all the behind the
scenes folks who worked
during the event to help
create a successful weekend.
We would like to share some
of the highlights from the
fun-filled weekend for those
unable to attend.
Sponsors:
We had 72 sponsors for
the 2nd International
Gathering of Friends and
Champions and
without their generous
contributions, the event
would not have been
possible. We appreciate
the support of the
ILR-SD members and the
llama publications who
sponsored the
Gathering at every
level.

Gathering sponsors.

Introducing the ILR Camelid
Companion Certification (CCC)
Program:
The Camelid Companion
Certification (CCC)
program was introduced
by Debi Garvin and a
demonstration was given
of the tasks to be
completed. There were 10
approved certifier forms
received at the
Gathering. Any
ILR-SD judge can be a
certifier. Numerous
members participated in
the CCC and some llamas
completed Level 1.
Specifics of the program will be posted
on the ILR site in the
near future.
ILR Promotion Committee Fund
Raisers:
The ILR Promotion
Committee (Pam Jensen,
Chair) really outdid
themselves this year by
hosting the Tastes and
Treasures sales, Silent
Auction and a Chinese
Auction. Thanks to their
hard work and the
generosity of the
members, we raised
$2,156 dollars for the
ILR through the
Promotion Committee plus
$590 through Youth
Gathering Bucks and the
ILR ‘Monte-the-Moose’
Raffle to equal $2,746!
