Iowa State University: 2013 Camelid Symposium
Iowa State University College of Veterinary
Medicine; Ames, IA
The purpose of the ISU Camelid Symposium is to
provide veterinary practitioners and students,
veterinary technicians, owners, and camelid
enthusiasts with an opportunity for professional
development, increased awareness of disorders
affecting llamas and alpacas, and enhance skills to
improve camelid care. We offer a broad range of
topics that will be useful to everyone involved with
the care of these animals.
This event has been approved by the Iowa Board of
Veterinary Medicine for 8 CE credits.
Topics of interest will be:
•Dermatology
•The Ins and Outs of Fiber
•Cria Management: Passive Transfer, Milk Replacers,
and Weaning
•The Early Cria: Dysmature vs. Premature
•Diarrhea in the Cria
•Stabilization of the Critical Cria
•Common Diseases and Conditions of the Neonate
•Camelid Toxicology

19th Annual Llama and Alpaca Show. Featuring a full
complement of halter, performance and youth classes.
Judges are John McDougall and Niki Kuklenski.
Additionally we will be highlighting fiber arts in
our annual Handmades Derby! Held at the world renown
Virginia Horse Center (East Complex), Lexington,
Virginia. Show ring and most stalls are under one
roof. Great premiums and trophies to the winners.

Depending on what you want to achieve at this clinic
you can attend just 1, 2 or all 3 days. Cost is
